Shri Ravindra Kumar, Director (Operations) addressed a brainstorming session as part of the conclave on Indian Power Sector Scenario by 2047 organised by CEA on 14th October.

The conference was graced by Hon'ble Minister of Power, Hon'ble Minister of State for Power, Secretary (Power) and Chairperson (CEA). The program was attended by top officials from the various Government bodies, regulators, central, state and private sectors power companies, investors etc.

Director (Operations), NTPC took part in the panel discussion on “Role of Base Load Plant in Energy transition and Energy security”.

Director (Operations) spoke about the key role that NTPC is playing in India’s energy sector and highlighted its contribution in meeting the country’s flexing needs. He also shared about the concerns about the impact of flexibilization on the machine life & reliability and difficulties in flexing of supercritical units, which the regulators need to keep in mind going ahead.

He shared the insight and success stories of R&M and LE (Life Extension) work taken up by NTPC and highlighted the advantage of R&M in achieving LE and efficiency improvement economically as compared to installing a green/brown-field projects.
